This notice describes the data flows verified in the current By the Wild website release. It will be expanded before any newsletter or paid checkout is activated.
Who is responsible for your data?
By the Wild's current legal and payment setup is operated through 1920 WORLDWIDE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 08874166. Its registered office is Suite C, 4-6 Canfield Place, London, England, NW6 3BT.
General website enquiries can be sent to cs@bythewild.com. A dedicated privacy contact has not yet been confirmed. Until one is published, data-protection requests can be sent to that address or in writing to the registered office above.
What the current site stores
- Your cart selection is stored in your browser and contains product and variant identifiers plus quantities. The current code does not set an automatic expiry.
- Your chosen display currency is stored in your browser. A country-based currency preference may be held for the current browser-tab session.
- The site may read a country header through its hosting environment to choose a display currency. Hosting log retention and access are still being confirmed.
- The contact form prepares a message in your own email application. You decide whether to send it. The website does not send that message from the form itself.
- Checkout is currently a preview. Details entered there are used for on-screen review and are not submitted by that page.
Purpose and legal basis
At present, browser storage is used to keep the catalogue and cart usable and to remember display preferences. If you choose to email By the Wild, the information in your message is used to read and respond to it. The legal bases, access controls and retention arrangements for hosting logs and received email are still being documented. They must be confirmed before any new marketing list or order workflow goes live.
How long information is kept
- Cart selections and a chosen display currency remain in browser storage until you clear them or the site data is removed. The current code does not set an automatic expiry.
- A country-based currency preference is kept only for the current browser-tab session.
- Retention periods for hosting logs and messages sent by email have not yet been confirmed and will be added to this notice.
Who receives information and international transfers
The current public release does not send newsletter or checkout data to a live marketing, payment or fulfilment service. If you choose to email By the Wild, your email provider and the recipient's email service will process the message. The hosting provider's role, log access, retention and any international transfers are still being confirmed.
Newsletter and marketing
The public newsletter area is currently decorative and is not connected to a live subscription service. By the Wild will not move contacts from a separate SORAI list into a By the Wild list without a documented lawful basis and appropriate notice. Any future subscription flow will use a separate, unticked, newsletter-specific choice and will explain how to withdraw it.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You may also complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work. UK visitors can contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
Updates
This notice will be updated when the privacy contact, providers, retention schedule, analytics, newsletter or checkout changes. The current technical inventory is not a legal opinion or a certification of compliance.
