Privacy notice

This notice describes the data flows verified in the current By the Wild website release, including the newsletter double opt-in flow. It will be expanded before any paid checkout is activated.

Important launch status. The current shop is a catalogue and payment is not available. Newsletter subscriptions use a double opt-in: entering an email address does not subscribe you until you use the confirmation link sent to that address. Do not treat a checkout preview as an order.

Who is responsible for your data?

By the Wild's current legal and payment setup is operated through 1920 WORLDWIDE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 08874166. Its registered office is Suite C, 4-6 Canfield Place, London, England, NW6 3BT.

General website enquiries can be sent to cs@bythewild.com. A dedicated privacy contact has not yet been confirmed. Until one is published, data-protection requests can be sent to that address or in writing to the registered office above.

What the current site stores

Your cart selection is stored in your browser and contains product and variant identifiers plus quantities. The current code does not set an automatic expiry.
Your chosen display currency is stored in your browser. A country-based currency preference may be held for the current browser-tab session.
The site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google) to count visits, pages viewed and traffic sources. Until you choose Accept in the cookie bar, analytics and advertising storage stay switched off and Google receives only limited, cookie-free signals. If you accept, analytics cookies are set. Your choice is stored in your browser under the name btw-consent is kept for 180 days, and can be changed at any time with Cookie settings in the footer; withdrawing it also deletes the analytics and advertising cookies this site set.
If you choose Accept, the site also loads the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms). It sets a cookie called _fbp and sends Meta the pages you view so By the Wild can measure its advertising. It does not load if you decline or have not chosen.
The site uses Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) to see how pages are used, through heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity masks sensitive content by default. Until you choose Accept it sets no cookies, so pages you view are not linked into one visit; if you accept, it sets the cookies _clck and _clsk. Declining or withdrawing your choice deletes them.
The site may read a country header through its hosting environment to choose a display currency. Hosting log retention and access are still being confirmed.
The contact form prepares a message in your own email application. You decide whether to send it. The website does not send that message from the form itself.
Checkout is currently a preview. Details entered there are used for on-screen review and are not submitted by that page.

Purpose and legal basis

Browser storage is used to keep the catalogue and cart usable and to remember display preferences. If you choose to email By the Wild, the information in your message is used to read and respond to it. Newsletter email addresses are used only where you have actively requested the By the Wild newsletter and then confirmed that request through the double opt-in email. The legal basis for newsletter processing is consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long information is kept

Cart selections and a chosen display currency remain in browser storage until you clear them or the site data is removed. The current code does not set an automatic expiry.
A country-based currency preference is kept only for the current browser-tab session.
A newsletter subscription record is kept while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, By the Wild stops marketing to that address; a minimal suppression record may be retained where needed to respect that choice.
Retention periods for hosting logs and messages sent by email have not yet been confirmed and will be added to this notice.

Who receives information and international transfers

Newsletter sign-up data is sent to Brevo, which By the Wild uses to manage the double opt-in and its separate By the Wild newsletter list. The sign-up flow records the email address and subscription request. Cloudflare Turnstile is used to protect the form from automated abuse. If you choose to email By the Wild, your email provider and the recipient's email service will process the message. The hosting provider's role, log access, retention and any international transfers are still being confirmed.

Newsletter and marketing

The newsletter form uses a separate By the Wild list and a double opt-in confirmation email. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in a newsletter, or by emailing cs@bythewild.com. By the Wild will not move contacts from a separate SORAI list into this By the Wild list without a documented lawful basis and appropriate notice.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, as well as the right to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. You may also complain to the supervisory authority in the country where you live or work. UK visitors can contact the Information Commissioner's Office.

Updates

This notice will be updated when the privacy contact, providers, retention schedule, analytics or checkout changes. The current technical inventory is not a legal opinion or a certification of compliance.
